At times it seems I’m held captive
by the thoughts that rage within me
My heart aches with the immeasurable joy
and mystery that surrounds my coming
to knowledge of Him who loves me

What shall I say?

How can I release my soul to behold Him?
To be consumed by the One
Who is the sole desire of my heart?

Oh, that I might be set free to worship You, my King!

Break the chains that bind me
to this earthly dungeon!
That I might receive in full
the reward of Your fellowship
and the beauty of Your presence
In the quiet times of my soul
